It's Nano time

Good Day to all,
It is that time of year again; time to think of the book you will write, time to let your imagination run wild, time to fill pages and pages with words never before written. Doesn’t that get you excited? It does me. I am talking about NANOWRIMO, National Novel Writing Month.  I have been involved since 2013 and year to date I have logged 165,000 words. The goal is 50,000 words in one month. I have fallen short except for last year; I wrote just over 50,000 words.

This year I am going to re-write a story I have had half completed for a few years. The working title is The Village at Hollow Heart. It is an adventure tale of a geologist who stumbles across a huge cavern in Montana, but is unable to prove his find, because the landowner refuses to let him on the property the cavern is beneath. The geologist stubborn streak gets him into trouble when he refuses to obey the landowner’s wishes.  To add to the suspense the residents of Cold Water Montana have been traumatized by the unexplained disappearance of people over the years.

I will post the first chapter when I get it to a readable state. If you have a desire to write, I would encourage you to try NANOWRIMO. It is free. The staff works on donations only. You can join groups and find a friend to write with or to just give and receive encouragement. It is “a must do “for any serious writer. After all, to be a writer you must write, right? Talking about it is good but in the end a writer writes, so let’s go! If you google Nanowrimo you will find the site. Sign up for free and start your journey as a writer.

Drop me a line and let me know if you tried it this year. cliffriff@charter.net
